Farewell Speeches For Retiring Person

Every time a colleague, friend or boss is about to resign, he is asked to prepare and deliver a farewell speech. To some, writing a farewell speech is as simple as writing a letter, but to some, it entails mixed emotions, and forward gratitude.

There are different kinds of farewell speeches. Moreover, there are several topics that are discussed or said in a farewell speech. When a person is about to retire, he somehow goes back on his past years and make a final conclusion of everything that has happened. It will include the reason why he is about to retire, what happened to him in his career, what lessons he has learned, what emotions and feelings he has for the people that he has worked with and so on.

Here are some of the things that you need to include when writing your farewell speech:

A good farewell speech needs to have a conclusion. It is a form of showing your appreciation for the people you are going to leave behind. You are going to say what you liked about your work, your team, co-employees, your boss and relate how they have helped you in your life, one way or another.

It will also include your feelings and emotions about having to leave the company. You will probably feel sad for leaving the people you have worked with and at the same time, excited for a new chapter in your life that you are about to begin.

A farewell speech for the retiring person will also state your achievements in your work life and how you have achieved them. You will give thanks to all the people who has helped you and for the opportunities that you have experienced while being a part of your company.

You can add a little humor in your farewell speech, like a memory or an anecdote to help you liven up the crowd. Don't forget to state your reason why you are leaving and give out your dreams and aspirations for the people who will remain. Give them the inspiration to strive more in their career and to be of better service to the company.

Thank them once again for everything and pay tribute to everyone as the end of your speech.

Farewell speeches for the retiring person can vary but all in all, those are the typical things that are included in farewell speech. However, remember that the best farewell speech is a speech that is written from the bottom of your heart.
